Made personally, handled carefully
Hi, I’m Matthew, founder of Chapters in Motion — and I’m also the Matthew featured in the example film above. I created Chapters in Motion after seeing how powerful it could be to turn ordinary family photographs and memories into something you can actually sit down and watch together. Every film is created individually, with care, using your own photographs, stories and memories.
We use technology to add subtle, natural movement to selected images while keeping the people in them looking like themselves. We don’t invent memories or try to recreate someone’s personality. The story always comes from you. Your photographs are treated privately and are never shared publicly without your permission.

Every photograph chosen for your finished film is carefully restored and enhanced, helping to reduce fading, scratches, discolouration and signs of age while preserving the character of the original image. Those restored images are then delivered to you as high-quality digital files.
We restore only the photographs that appear in your film, not every image you upload. This keeps the collection focused on the moments that shape your story, ready to download, save, print and share with your family.

Not every photograph is animated — we use the technique selectively and subtly, with the goal of enhancing the memory rather than reinventing it.

What exactly is Chapters in Motion?
Chapters in Motion turns your photographs and written memories into a beautifully narrated, cinematic film created around your story.
How does it work?
Choose your film length, tell us the memories you want included and add photographs to each memory. Once you’ve reviewed everything and placed your order, we begin creating your film.
How many photographs can I include?
Each package has a required photograph range across your whole order: Essential (2 minutes) — 30 to 50, Signature (5 minutes) — 70 to 100, Legacy (10 minutes) — 130 to 200, Heirloom (15 minutes) — 200 to 300, Archive (20 minutes) — 250 to 400. We ask for a minimum number of photographs so there is enough visual material to create a varied, cinematic film. Not every photograph will necessarily appear in the final edit, so providing a wider selection gives us the freedom to choose the strongest images for your story.
Do I need to write the script myself?
No. Simply tell us your memories in your own words. We use what you share with us to shape the narrative and turn it into a cohesive film.
How long will my film be?
You can choose Essential (2 minutes), Signature (5 minutes), Legacy (10 minutes), Heirloom (15 minutes) or Archive (20 minutes) when placing your order.
How long does it take?
Your film will usually be ready within 14 days of receiving your completed order. If we need any additional information from you, we’ll get in touch.
How will I receive my film?
Your finished film will be delivered digitally, so you can watch it, download it and share it with your family.
What happens to my photographs and memories?
Your photographs and memories are used to create your film and are not shared publicly without your permission.
Can I request changes to my film?
Yes. Every film includes one complimentary round of reasonable revisions. When you receive your film, you can let us know if there are any small changes you’d like us to make before the final version is complete.
Can I create a film as a gift?
Absolutely. Chapters in Motion can be created for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, memorials and other meaningful occasions.
